❀The word Rudraksha is derived from the Sanskrit root rudra, which is another name for the Hindu god Shiva, and aksha, which means "eyes" or "tears." This can be translated as 'Rudra's tears'. Legend has it that Shiva shed a tear when he opened his eyes after a long meditation and this tear evolved into a rudaksha tree. It is strongly believed that wearing Rudraksha beads provides custody of Shiva and acts as a shield against negative energies. There are different types of Rudraksha seeds, varying in the number of grooves (faces) on the surface. The most common and reportedly the safest type is the five-faced type, also known as panchmukhi Rudraksha. These can be worn by anyone and are believed to calm the nerves, improve wakefulness and lower blood pressure. For yoga practitioners who need a mala for Japa yoga or other mantra practices, Rudraksha beads are a powerful alternative to wooden, metal or plastic beads.

❀Spiritually speaking, Rudraksha can be a support for someone who is constantly moving and eating and sleeping in different places, because it creates a cocoon of your own energy. You may find that when you go to a new place, sometimes you can fall asleep easily, while in certain other places you can't fall asleep even if you are physically tired. This is because, if the situation around you isn't conducive to your kind of energy, it won't let you settle in. Rudraksha beads encourage the connection between you and Shiva while reaffirming the spiritual essence you have within you. Because of this, Rudraksha carries the creative, fertility and life force energy with it.

❀Rudraksha is seen as a living essence capable of providing renewed vitality and high levels of soul healing. Our entire chakra column is aligned and activated when we choose to access the full possibilities of Rudraksha. Wearing this bead as a bracelet is a great way to relax the mind and allow the mind to heal from within. This internal healing allows us to become more aware of our surroundings and provide ourselves with much-needed support. The process of creating this seed will have a major impact on your daily energy when worn. Usually the seed you are holding is only a few months, if not a few years old. When we talk about creation, normally a rock is formed about hundreds if not millions of years ago. The divine nubile energy of this seed connects our root chakra to Mother Earth in a way no crystal has had before.

1. Choose a quiet and comfortable space to meditate
2. Hold your mala with one hand.
3. Let it drape across your fingers so you can move it easily. Place two fingers around one of the beads next to the guru bead. Many people use their thumb and middle finger, as some religious traditions avoid using the index finger.
4. Complete one full breath (inhale and exhale).
5. Move your fingers to the next bead, breathing in and out once per bead.
6. Finish at the guru bead to complete 108 breaths.
7. If you want to do another round, just move your fingers in the opposite direction until you reach the guru bead again

Repeating a mantra

A mantra is a phrase, word, or sound you can use to help focus your awareness during meditation. “Om” is a common one, but there are countless others.

You can also create your own mantra that feels reassuring or calming. For example, your mantra might be “I am calm,” “I am safe,” or “I am loved.” The mantra you repeat can also vary depending on your current situation.

To use mala beads with a mantra, follow the same process as you would for controlling your breath. But instead of exhaling and inhaling at each bead, repeat your mantra. You can whisper it, say it in a loud, clear voice, or stick to a mental repetition — whatever feels best.

• Wearing a mala during meditation can help in grounding and anchoring one's energy.
• Attuning energies with a new mala for 40 days can aid in breaking old patterns and establishing a daily meditation habit.
• Recharging and cleansing the mala beads periodically is essential due to personal energy absorption.

• Wearing a mala necklace made of gemstones, crystals, or natural wood allows the wearer to benefit from their varied symbolism and healing properties.
• Layering multiple gemstone necklaces with a mala can combine energies for personal intentions and create a fashionable style.
  
  
  Wrap Mala Beads on the Wrist
• Mala beads can be worn as bracelets with 18, 21, or 27 beads, with the option to set specific intentions for each one.
• Carefully wrapping a full-size 108 mala beads around the wrist can be done, but caution is needed to avoid breakage, especially during physical activities like yoga.

• There are no set rules; mala bracelets or wrapped necklaces can be worn on the wrist that feels most comfortable.
• In India, wearing on the right wrist is common, while Tibetan Buddhists wear malas on either hand.

• Different spiritual traditions have specific ways of wearing malas, from wearing them openly as a sign of being a qualified teacher to tucking them inside clothes or wrapping them on the wrist for ease of counting beads.

• Do not wear your crystal bracelet while swimming or taking a bath. The chlorine or salty seawater can cause color changes and damage to various gemstones and other components.
• Try to protect your crystal bracelet from chemicals, extreme temperatures and prolonged sunlight. (prolonged sunlight can cause some crystals to lose colour)
• Store your crystal bracelet and other jewelry separately to prevent scratches.
• Crystals should be cleared of any old intention already set before setting a new intention.
• I recommend sticking to only one intention per crystal at a time.
• Do not let other people touch your crystals. However, if you want other
  people to see and feel the beauty of your crystal then you can welcome them but please do remember to cleanse the crystals again after any other person touches them.
• A very important point now- Some of my customers do complain about having little scratches or tiny cracks on the crystals. let me tell you, first of all, these are natural stones extracted straight from mother earth. Mother earth leaves marks on these stones and we see them as a great thing as it makes the stone feel and look more natural rather than the highly polished ones which are being sold at some stores. You should always appreciate the beauty of crystal.
